The International Prayer for Peace, held in conjunction with the 11th Annual Catholic Intellectual Tradition Lecture Series, is a historical gathering that invites community members of all faiths to join in a day of prayer, led by the Community of Sant’Egidio in Rome and broadcast at St. Mary’s University. Participants will take part in dialogues and workshops, as well as hear from speakers and enjoy music — all with the common goal of promoting peace and interfaith dialogue worldwide.

The Community of Sant’Egidio began in Rome in 1968, in the period following the Second Vatican Council. Today it is a movement of lay people and has more than 60,000 members dedicated to evangelisation and charity in Rome, Italy, and in more than 73 countries worldwide.
