What is it really like to be an engineer? Featuring Meredith Beveridge, New Technology Research, USAA

Please join us as Beveridge shares experiences and lessons learned from almost two decades of industry experience as an engineer. She'll describe some of the interesting projects she's worked on over the years, as well as observations on the real world life of an engineer, and her advice on how to succeed in your engineering career.

Ms. Beveridge received a BS in Computer Engineering from St. Mary's University and an MS in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. She developed embedded software for more than 15 years for the oil and gas, defense, and space science industries at Schlumberger and Southwest Research Institute. Recently she transitioned to USAA, where she researches new technology for the insurance business.

The Engineering Seminar Series brings researchers and practitioners from various fields of engineering to St. Mary’s. The seminars take place one Friday a month.

This event is free and open to the public.
