Mr. Derek Contreras (B.S.: Industrial Engineering; M.S.: Engineering Systems Management, St. Mary’s University) will describe his experience in successfully implementing continuous improvement principles and techniques such as Lean and Kaizen in the food industry. Bimbo Bakeries USA produces rolls, buns, bagels, muffins, chips, cookies and other pastries under a variety of brands, including Sara Lee. Mr. Contreras serves as Adjunct Professor for St. Mary’s Engineering Department.
