The campus community will gather to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Marianists worldwide beginning with Mass at 12:20 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church adjacent to the campus.

Afterwards, stroll over to Alkek Plaza to enjoy an old-fashioned Texas barbecue with plenty of sides and beverages, music and more.

Classes are cancelled beginning at 12:20 p.m. until 5 p.m. so the community may attend the Marianist Bicentennial Mass and celebration.

In 2017, the Marianist priests and brothers are celebrating the 200th anniversary - bicentennial - of the founding of the Society of Mary by Blessed William Joseph Chaminade. Joining them are the Daughters of Mary Immaculate (Marianist Sisters), founded by Venerable Adele de Batz de Trenquelleon, whose bicentennial has been celebrated in 2016.
