Seventy-five 7th grade girls from the Young Women’s Leadership Academy will attend a series of workshops and talks designed to encourage continued study of mathematics and introduce mathematics-related careers. This event is fully funded through a grant from the Association for Women in Mathematics and National Science Foundation.

Sonia Kovalevsky Mathematics Days are held throughout the nation to honor the first woman to earn a Ph.D. in mathematics and a pioneer in the field of partial differential equations (used to model the movement of elements such as heat, sound, fluids, and electricity).
