Free one-week camps at St. Mary’s University about technology for students who are at least in 9th grade now and 14 years old by June 13, 2022. Camps are taught by St. Mary’s professors in computer science and engineering. Camps are sponsored by the Texas Workforce Commission. Campers can learn about topics in computer science and engineering. Camps will have hands-on instruction and include tours of labs, museums, and specialized equipment at St. Mary's University. Participants can sign up for at most 3 camps on a first-come, first-served basis. Proof of current grade level and age is required. CYBERSECURITY and MOBILE APPS June 20-24, 2022
Participants will see and try out cybersecurity threats and attacks, and they will create mobile apps.
ROBOTICS June 20-24, 2022
Participants will build and program robots with movement and sensors.
PROGRAMMING with PYTHON June 27-July 1, 2022
Participants will solve programming problems and develop graphics.
DRONES June 27-July 1, 2022
Participants will pilot, build and program multi[1]rotor drones.
MACHINE LEARNING and DATA SCIENCE (for females) July 11-15, 2022
Participants will extract and explore data using machine learning models.
GAME DEVELOPMENT (for females) July 18-22, 2022
Participants will design and create simple computer games using GameMaker.
OPERATIONS RESEARCH and JAVA PROGRAMMING July 18-22, 2022
Participants will learn world operations research problems and solutions, and they will learn to program in java.
OPERATIONS RESEARCH and WEB DEVELOPMENT July 25-29, 2022
Participants will learn real world operations research problems and solutions, and they will learn some HTML, CSS and JavaScript
