Dear Friends,
Lent is that 40 day period we Christians/Catholics prepare
for Easter. I’ll be honest with you, as
a kid, I wasn’t very fond of it! Lent,
for many of us has meant we begin on Ash Wednesday by donning ashes and
listening to the chilling admonition:
“Remember that you are dust and into dust, you shall return!” Then,
traditionally we focus on “giving something up” such as chocolate, the adult
beverage of our choice (for the brave!); or doing something that is needed to
improve our lives such as attentiveness to exercise and diet. But, what does all this have to do with
Easter? And, how can our participation
in Lent, especially this year in the midst of the coronavirus, help us
experience the fullness of life that Jesus is offering each of us?
Join us for a chat via Zoom about Lent and Easter!
Blessings,
Father Bill
