St. Mary's University's Department of English Literature and Language is proud to host San Antonio Poet Laureate, Octavio Quintanilla, for a presentation and reading. A book signing will follow.

About Quintanilla

Quintanilla is the author of the poetry collection, If I Go Missing and is the 2018-2020 Poet Laureate of San Antonio. His poetry, fiction, translations and photography have appeared, or are forthcoming, in journals such as Salamander, RHINO, Alaska Quarterly Review, and elsewhere. His Frontextos (visual poems) have been published widely, and his visual work has been exhibited across Texas.

Currently, Quintanilla has an exhibit on display at Southwest School of Art, and one is forthcoming at Equinox Gallery. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of North Texas and is the regional editor for Texas Books in Review and poetry editor for The Journal of Latina Critical Feminism. Octavio also teaches graduate courses in Literature and Creative Writing at Our Lady of the Lake University.
