Plant Diterpenes Promote an Immunogenic Innate Immune Response

Description:
Charles Fermaintt, Ph.D. is a Saber IRACDA Scholar in the department of pharmacology at UT Health San Antonio.
As a postdoctoral fellow under the mentorship of April Risinger, Ph.D., Fermaintt is identifying and characterizing drugs derived from natural sources like plants and fungi that could be used to develop more effective cancer-immunotherapies against breast cancer in particular triple negative breast cancer.

The 
Jose Miguel Cimadevilla Memorial Seminar Series highlights the undergraduate research projects of St. Mary's University students and faculty members within the School of Science, Engineering and Technology. The seminar series features guest presentations and information sessions by individuals from various universities to share their career and education experiences.

The seminar series is sponsored by the Office of Undergraduate Research, the Office of Sponsored Projects, Academic Research and Compliance (SPARC) and the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
